WHAT WE BELIEVE

1) Bible: We believe that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God; its teachings and authority are final. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17;2 Peter 1:21)

2) The Godhead: We believe that there is one God eternal co-existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:10, 11, 16, 17)

3) Christ:

a.     We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (John 1:1, 2, 4; Luke 1:27-38, 2:1-49)

b.     We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave His life to redeem all who believe on His name. (Rom. 10:8-13)

c.      We believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He arose and is now seated at the right hand of God acting as our Intercessor. (Acts 1: 9, 10; I Peter 2:24; I Cor. 15: 3, 4; Hebrews 9:24)

d.     We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, to take His believers home to be with Him. (I Thess. 4:13-17)

4)  Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts each man of sin, dwells in the believer's heart, and directs the believer's ways in the paths of righteousness.  (John 16:7-13; Eph. 5:18)

5) Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; that all men are consequently born with a sinful nature and have need of salvation and forgiveness of sin through faith alone, effecting a new birth into the family of God. (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 3:23, 6:23; Eph. 2:8)

6) Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Eph. 2:8-10; John 1:12; Rev. 3:20; Romans 10:9-13)

7) Missions: We believe that the mission of every believer in Christ is to bring the Word of God to all mankind. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

8) Heaven and Hell: We believe that Heaven is a place of eternal blessedness for all believers in Jesus Christ and Hell is a place of eternal suffering for Satan and his followers. (Matt. 25:41; John 11:25, 26; Rev. 20:11-15)

9) The Church:

a.     We believe that the Church is a spiritual body made up of born- again believers in Christ. (1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:22, 23, 5:23-27)

b.     We believe in the sacraments of water baptism by immersion and communion (the Lord's Supper) as symbols of the death, resurrection, and coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 11:23-26; Matt. 3:16-17; Rom. 6:4, 5)

c.      We believe the sacrament of marriage is between one man and one woman as God designed. (Gen.2:18-25)

d.     We believe in the dignity of all human life. (Psalm 139)

e.     We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.  These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.  (Gen. 1:26-27)

10) We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity in light of The Great Commandment: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Luke 10:27)
